ANOMALY

ANOMALY is a continuation of the body of work I began during my MFA thesis. It is the second installment of a larger ongoing exploration that has taken years of work, planning, experimentation, and an endless amount of time to develop.

The exhibition presents ceramic sculptures that move away from what ceramics is traditionally expected to be. Through unusual scale, construction, and form, the work pushes the material into something more strange, architectural, and alive. Sharp extensions, layered ornamentation, and intricate silhouettes create forms that feel both constructed and organic, suggesting transformation, growth, and becoming.

There is a sense of grandeur and oddity throughout the work. The sculptures feel almost ethereal and animated, as if they possess an internal life of their own, while still maintaining a strong physical presence and sense of power. ANOMALYcontinues my interest in pushing clay beyond familiar boundaries and discovering how far I can take an idea, a material, and a sculpture.
